Cowboys RB Joseph Randle Cited On Drug Charge In Kansas

WICHITA, KS (CBSDFW.COM) -- Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was issued a citation for drug charges in Kansas early Wednesday morning.
According to the police report, the incident occurred just before 3 a.m. at a Wichita hotel.
Police say a 22-year-old woman reported she and Randle were arguing in a hotel room. When police responded to the domestic violence call, officers found marijuana in the room.
The 23-year-old was cited and provided a court date on a misdemeanor drug charge. Wichita Police call it an arrest. However, Randle's agent, Erik Burkhardt, emphasized on Twitter that Randle was not arrested, a police officer issued him a citation and then left the hotel room. Burkhardt tweeted that Randle was asking three people to leave his room, but they didn't want to leave.
The Wichita Police Department, which communicated with our Wichita affiliate KWCH, says the call came in as a disturbance with a weapon. Police say witnesses reported a handgun at the scene, though the police incident report does not indicate the presence of a handgun.
In October, Randle was arrested and charged with a Class B misdemeanor of theft after he was accused of taking $123 worth of cologne and underwear from a department store at a suburban Dallas mall.
While in custody, Randle joked with a jailer about smoking medical marijuana and didn't appear to take officers seriously.

Randle later called the incident "the biggest mistake I've ever made in my life. I have never got in any kind of trouble in my whole life. This is just something I have to learn from and move forward."
After his October arrest, the Cowboys kept Randle's punishment in-house, saying only that they would "fine him significantly and move forward." He was not suspended.
The Dallas Cowboys have not commented on his latest incident.
Randle served as DeMarco Murray's primary backup in 2014, carrying the ball 51 times for 343 yards and three touchdowns.
