DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott tweeted this weekend that he's sponsoring a $21 "Run to the Shelter" pet adoption day at Dallas' SPCA of Texas until 6 p.m. tonight.

It usually costs around $250 to adopt a pet, but Zeke's event is part of the SPCA of Texas' 'Dogtober,' in which  all dog-adoption fees are cut in half, from $250 to $125, for the month.

The organization's goal is to facilitate 500 dog adoptions in October, according to its website.

SPCA of Texas' headquarters is located at 2400 Lone Star Drive in Dallas.

Elliott isn't shy about bragging about his beloved dog Ace on social media. The precious Rottweiler even has his own Instagram account.

Elliott and the Cowboys square off against the Packers in Green Bay on Sunday.
