IRVING (The Fan) - The Cowboys are continuing a "tradition'' with a "Romo Wednesday'' even though he's healthy … as is the rest of the active roster.

Cowboys starting quarterback Tony Romo is the only player not practicing, and that's due to a decision to repeat last year's practice of "Romo Wednesdays'' — having him sit out mid-week to rest his back. Romo is as healthy as he's ever been now, and Dallas hasn't committed to this idea for the entirety of 2015 … but they hope it works as they prepare for the season opener Sunday night at the New York Giants.

Linebacker Anthony Hitchens (sprained right foot) participating is the other important news. If healthy, he'll start at middle linebacker.
Meanwhile, receivers Dez Bryant (hamstring) and Devin Street (sprained ankle) are working, as are offensive linemen Tyron Smith (biceps) and Zack Martin (neck), tight end James Hanna (sprained left knee) and backup quarterback Brandon Weeden (concussion).
