Cowboys Optimistic About McClain, Not Carter For Seattle
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- The Dallas Cowboys could be without two starting linebackers as the team travels to Seattle to take on the league's most prolific rushing attack this weekend. On the other hand, they could have both of them.
Rolando McClain left Sunday's game against the Texans after aggravating a groin injury in the fourth quarter. He was sorely missed, as Houston's offense put together a quick four-play scoring drive to tie the game.
The injury appears to be related to a groin injury that kept him out of the team's Week 3 game at St. Louis.
"Roland looks good, according to our trainers," said Jerry Jones on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday. "Yesterday, he came in, we were pleasantly surprised but we'll see when he really stars working in. He'll have some limitation in practice, but there's a possibility."
Linebacker Bruce Carter injured his hamstring in a home win over New Orleans. He was expected to be sidelined for 10 to 14 days, putting him in question for Seattle. Jones didn't express the same optimism.
"Carter, not as much so. These guys can surprise you. I feel better about McClain and a little less about Carter, but we'll see as the week goes. It's not impossible to have them both."
The Seahawks are averaging a league-best 167.2 rushing yards per game. The Cowboys sit second at 160.0.
In their last meeting, running back Marshawn Lynch carried the ball a game-high 26 times for 122 yards in a 27-7 win.
