Cowboys Joe Randle's Very Bad Week

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - Joe Randle is experiencing a very, very, very, very, very bad week.

Randle, the Dallas Cowboys starting running back as of last Sunday, on Wednesday received the report from the NFL regarding his incident last February involving a domestic-violence charge and alleged marijuana possession, sources tell us.

Getting that news - which can come with a suspension from the NFL for violating its personal-conduct policy - is among the reasons a highly emotional Randle left team headquarters on Tuesday.

Wichita police say the mother of Randle's son said the player punched through a car window in an argument and threatened her with a gun, all while their child was in the car. The charges were eventually dropped, but 105.3 The Fan reported in September that Christine Michael was acquired in trade from Seattle largely due to concerns that Randle — who a year ago was arrested for shoplifting underwear and a tester bottle of cologne from a Frisco mall — might eventually get punishment from the NFL.

Randle was fined by the Cowboys for that incident.

Sources tell me the club does not intend on punishing him for Wednesday's actions … which are the culmination of a handful of other issues, including what sources tell 105.3 The Fan is the frustration of being injured at the beginning of Sunday's loss to the Giants in which his replacement Darren McFadden rushed for 152 yards, the fact that McFadden has been named the starter for this week regardless of whether Randle recovers from a strained oblique that kept him out of Wednesday's practice, and a "family issue'' at home.
