Cowboys Jerry's Hip To Be Square

When Jerry Jones launches into his "State of the Cowboys'' address to open training camp on Wednesday in Oxnard, the 72-year-old team owner will likely talk everything from "glory hole'' to "Super Bowl'' — but will surely include a mention of his health, featuring recent hip-replacement surgery.
And then coach Jason Garrett will take the microphone and discuss the health of the Cowboys — psychological health, mostly, as he works to reinforce the idea that last year's 12-4 first-place division finish guarantees nothing in 2015.
"We define ourselves by what we do, what we say and don't say, and how we present ourselves each and every day," Garrett said at the team's annual Coaches Clinic at AT&T Stadium on Monday. "When I did this press conference a year ago, we were probably regarded as a bottom-five or a bottom-10 team in the league. One of the best things our team did last year was we defined ourselves by what we did. We didn't listen to any outside forces saying that we weren't this or we weren't that. We just went to work every day. We have to do that again.''
The Cowboys arrive in Oxnard today, conduct the press conference on Wednesday and on Thursday begin practice — and the exercise of "how we present ourselves each and every day,'' Garrett said. "That's individually, that's collectively. That's what we're going to start (at camp)."
