Cowboys Injury Report: Tony Romo 'Questionable' For Sunday
By Shawn Lealos
The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for their Week 10 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With the team at 7-1 behind rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, the Cowboys are about to have to make a very difficult decision. Tony Romo is fully cleared to return to practice. The Cowboys have him listed as questionable for the first time this season, but they still plan to stick with Prescott for now. Here is a look at the Dallas Cowboys injury report for their Week 10 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tony Romo Ready to Return
The big news here is that Tony Romo was full speed in practice this week for the first time this season. It is also the first time that the Cowboys have not ruled Romo out and listed him as questionable on Friday's injury report. He practiced a full three times this week but word is that they likely won't make Romo active for the Steelers game, with Mark Sanchez remaining onboard as backup. Romo's actual final designation won't be known until Sunday morning.
Tyron Smith Nearing Return as Well
The Dallas Cowboys offense has been amazing this season. While a lot of credit goes to quarterback Dak Prescott and rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, the real MVPs are the offensive lineman. After struggling somewhat in 2015, they are back stronger than ever in 2016 and have Elliott as the NFL rushing leader through nine games with 891 yards. If Elliott wins the rushing title, it will mark two rushing titles in three years for the Cowboys' offensive line.
This year's success has been without Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith, who has been out with a hip flexor strain. He is officially questionable this week. Also, fellow offensive lineman Ronald Leary is back at practice after missing time following a concussion.
Pittsburgh Steelers Missing Two Receivers
The Pittsburgh Steelers got Ben Roethlisberger back this past week, but they couldn't win in his return. Part of the reason is that he is without some key weapons. While Antonio Bryant, the best receiver in the NFL, is still healthy, Roethlisberger is missing two receivers and has a third banged up this week. Both Darrius Heyward-Bey and Markus Wheaton are out with a foot and shoulder injury, respectively. Sammy Coates is suffering from finger problems.
