IRVING (105.3 The Fan) - I noted on 105.3 The Fan early Tuesday morning that the Dallas Cowboys were making "special arrangements'' to be in New York a day early for this weekend's visit to the Giants. Moments later, team owner Jerry Jones checked in 105.3 The Fan's "Shan & RJ'' to confirm the news.
"We're going up Friday and going to really go to Ground Zero and go to the observation tower and really experience that in the downtown area of New York and get a feel for what heroes were really like in those trying times,'' said Jones.

I was told this is a coach Jason Garrett-driven concept, with the team leaving Friday rather than the customary Saturday departure for the Sunday NFC East showdown.
"We're going to have dinner up there and basically look at the history of how New York has evolved as well as recognize all of the fallen that were there for our country on 9/11."
The Giants lost Monday to the Eagles to drop to 3-3. The Cowboys are 2-3 and have lost three straight but under Garrett have a road record within the NFC East of 12-3.
