Cowboys Explore 2 Veteran Fill-Ins

IRVING (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys are exploring two veteran free-agent options with talents that may mirror a pair of 2015 team members.
Defensive end Jason Jones and offensive lineman Joe Looney will reportedly visit the Cowboys this week. Jones, a former second-round pick who turns 30 in May, is 6-5, 275. He started 31 games for the Lions over the last two seasons, recording 9.5 sacks. Looney, a former fourth-round pick, has been a part-time starter in San Francisco and Tennessee. He's 6-3, 315 and just 25.
What can Jones do? Maybe replace free-agent Cowboys end Jeremy Mincey. (Not to mention Jack Crawford, the pass-rusher who may be squeezed due to the signing of Benson Mayowa.)
What can Looney do? Probably replace Mackenzy Bernadeau, who occupied a Dallas roster spot last year due to his ability to play both guard positions and center - as Looney has done throughout his career.
