IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - The Cowboys are shuffling the deck in the back of the running backs room, releasing rookie free agent Synjyn Days in favor of Baylor product Lache Seastrunk, sources tell 105.3 The Fan.

The 5-9, 205-pound Seastrunk, 23, is a former Baylor star from Temple, Texas. He produced 2,189 yards rushing on 289 carries and 18 TDs over the course of two seasons for the Bears before being selected in the sixth-round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Redskins.

Seastrunk was cut by Washington and has spent brief time with the Panthers and Titans but was a street free agent this offseason.

The Cowboys have explored employing a bigger back and at 230, Georgia Tech product Days was that. But last Thursday at OTAs, 105.3 The Fan is told, the rookie didn't get any reps behind a group of vets that includes Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden, Lance Dunbar and Ryan Williams.
