Cowboys Agree To Contract With DC Rod Marinelli

IRVING, Texas (105.3 THE FAN/AP) - With the Dallas Cowboys finalizing a 5-year deal to keep Jason Garrett as the head coach, sources tell The Fan that deals to keep other key coaches with the club are underway.

Sources are now saying that Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marnelli has been offered and has accepted a 3-year deal to stay with the team.

Play caller and passing game coordinator Scott Linehan contract is still pending.

Questions about Garrett's job security festered through three straight 8-8 seasons before the Cowboys won the NFC East at 12-4 and beat Detroit in the playoffs before falling to Green Bay.

The Dallas defense improved significantly after Marinelli was promoted from defensive line coach.
