IRVING (105.3 The Fan) - It is an "honor" that comes as a result of the Cowboys' 4-12 season in 2015, but there are obvious benefits to the Dallas staff being tabbed to coach in this year's Senior Bowl.

"We're looking forward to the opportunity to coach in the Senior Bowl," said Garrett, whose team finished 2015 with a record of 4-12 and holds the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. "It's a great chance to get to spend time with the best players in the country ... It's a very beneficial experience for everyone involved."

The Cowboys will spend January 25-30 coaching the North team, while Jaguars coach Gus Bradley and his staff will oversee the South squad.

This is the fifth time the Cowboys' staff has coached the Senior Bowl, but the first time since 1965. Tom Landry and his staff coached in the game four straight years in the 1960s.

The Senior Bowl will be played on January 30 in Mobile.
