Cowboys Carr To Undergo Hand Surgery

OXNARD (CBSDFW.COM) - Brandon Carr is leaving Cowboys camp to undergo surgery on Monday in Dallas to repair a broken right hand.

"We don't think it's serious," coach Jason Garrett said. "The biggest thing is getting the surgery done correctly, which we're confident that's going to happen, then handling the incision and seeing what he's capable of doing."

Garrett compared the nature of the injury to that of DeMarco Murray, who last season underwent the procedure early in the week and then played in that weekend's game.

Carr injured the hand in Thursday's practice while engaging with a wide receiver in a passing drill.

Orlando Scandrick, who starts opposite Carr, has also missed a few days of camp with a sore knee.
