Cowboys Bags, And Hopes, Packed For London

IRVING, Texas (105.3 THE FAN)  - The bags are packed. The visas are being checked. The manifest for the Virgin Airlines flight that tonight will transport the Cowboys to London is full.

And Tony Romo, Josh Brent, Joseph Randle and Mrs. Jerry Jones all have seat assignments.

"We certainly wouldn't put him on that plane and take him to London and fly over and fly back if we weren't planning on him playing,'' Cowboys owner  Jones says in the wake of Dallas losing 28-17 to Arizona with Brandon Weeden subbing for an injured Romo. "He's definitely on that plane."

The first-class seats on Virgin Airlines literally can lie down like an easy chair, and Romo - dealing with two fractured transverse process in his back -- will get one of those seats for the 10-hour flight.

Jerry jokes that Romo's need for a first-class seat might force him to bump wife Gene Jones back to coach.

Of course coach is full, too, with admittedly non-essential personnel like Brad Sham, Kristi Scales, Bryan Broaddus and yours truly, on the trip to take 105.3 The Fan fans into all the sights and sounds of the week leading up to Subday's game at Wembley Stadium against the Jaguars.

Also scheduled to be traveling for tonight's 7 p.m. departure and the 10-hour flight: running back Joseph Randle, despite his knuckleheaded behavior;  and Brent, the defensive tackle who can't play until Nov. 23 but is eligible to practice now.

But the focal point of the week will be Romo, his travel, his health and his chance to play.

"We're optimistic," coach Jason Garrett says. "We'll see how he feels."

The Cowboys' seating arrangement is designed to help Tony Romo feel as comfortable as possible.
