Couple Gets Married On Southwest Airlines Flight

DALLAS LOVE FILED (CBSDFW.COM)- A couple gets married at 32,000 feet. For the first time ever a wedding ceremony takes place on Southwest Airlines flight.

It was done on the their first non-stop flight from Nashville to Dallas. Keith Stewart made sure the seat belt light was off before he and his bride Dottie walked no danced down the aisle, at an altitude of 35-thousand feet.

This wedding in the sky had passengers popping up their seat backs to the upright position to a glimpse of the "I do's"

And the cheers weren't about to stop as the plane landed at Dallas Love-Field.

For the newlyweds who walked off as Mr. And Mrs. Stewart it was a trip they would never forget.

"Amazing. So fun. It was much better than we could have imagined, " said Dottie Stewart.

"We thought why not get married in an airplane. I mean we are in an airplane most of our time."

Both the newlyweds said they travel about 5 days out of the week for work.

So they saw it fitting to invite their closest friends on board to witness the nuptials.

"We wanted to do something that nobody else has done," said Dottie

And that they did. Now everyone is toasting to the Stewarts wishing them a long happy marriage with little to no turbulence.

The couple told CBS 11 they invited about 40 of their friends on that flight. The rest were all strangers.
