CORINTH (CBSDFW.COM) -Denton ISD tells CBS11 Wednesday evening the parents of Crownover Middle School student did indeed send an Uber driver to pick up their kid.  Two problems:  One, they didn't alert the school and two, the school wouldn't have been able to legally release a child that age to a non-relative.

Original story:

A strange incident at Crownover Middle School Wednesday afternoon has Corinth Police looking for a man around 70-years-old.

Police say around 1:15 p.m. the man went to the office asking about the student release schedule. He told an employee he works for Uber and was asked by a student's parent to pick the child up but was unsure what time normal release was.

The employee gave the man the information but the school administration contacted the student's parent and asked if she knew anything about the arrangement and she did not.

The School Resource Officer was notified but the man left.  He's described as approximately 70 years of age, partially bald with tinted glasses, medium build and wore a blue or gray short sleeve plaid shirt.

Officers checked the surrounding areas and remained near the school during school zone times but was unable to locate the vehicle or the man.

The school employee believed the man gave a last name of Fink but was unsure.  Contact the Corinth Police Department at 940-349-1600, option 9, if you have information.
