Construction Worker Dies After Falling Into Elevator Shaft At D/FW Airport

GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) - A construction worker has died after falling 30 feet down an elevator shaft at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Wednesday.

The area where the worker — later identified as Craig Rowell, 55 — fell is currently walled off for construction.

He was flown by medical helicopter to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where he passed away overnight.

It is not clear how far he fell or what led to the fall.
