DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Ebola virus is the talk of the community, especially near Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas where some neighbors are nervous.

What was once a threat half a world away is now surprisingly close to home for lake highlands residents.

"For it to turn up in Dallas of all places, especially down the street from where I work. You know it's a little shocking," said Natalie Coca of Lake Highlands.

The hospital now housing the Ebola patient, is popular among families in the area.

"That's where all of our doctors are, all of our kids' doctors," said Steve Pettit.
All three of his children were born in the hospital's maternity ward.
"I would just want to make sure that if we have our kids' going to doctors and going there, that it's a safe place to go," he said. "But I don't think they'd let people in, if it wasn't safe. I trust them."

Many residents said they aren't panicking.

"I'm not too worried about it. Maybe I'm under reacting," said Gabi Beich.

But the community is well aware, and the talk around town is also the talk of the nation.

"Everybody's interested and curious," said Coca.
