Collin Co. Courthouse Closed Following Overnight Power Loss

MCKINNEY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - The power is out at the Collin County Courthouse.

Reports say the building lost power around 9:00pm Monday night and crews have been working to try and get the electricity on again.

According to county officials all trials and hearings at the Collin County Courthouse have been canceled for the day.

All court case settings are postponed until tomorrow. Likewise, no filings can be made today.

Back-up generators were brought in to protect computer servers and keep emergency lighting charged and on stand-by.

The jail and county administration building and other facilities on the county government campus did not lose power and are open.

ONCOR spokesman Justin Ozuna says the problem involves failure of some equipment that is the customer's responsibility. ONCOR has disconnected power to the courthouse until county officials make repairs.
