Collin Co. DA Asking Texas Rangers To Investigate McKinney Pool Party
MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - Collin County's District Attorney has asked the Texas Rangers to independently investigate the McKinney pool party incident, where a teenage girl was handcuffed and physically restrained by a police officer.
Video of the incident went viral and the officer involved, Eric Casebolt, has since resigned. Some civil rights groups have called for criminal charges to be filed against Casebolt.
"I have full confidence in the good men and women of the McKinney Police Department and their ability to fully investigate this matter. At the same time, an independent investigation of this incident will add an important layer of transparency to the process," said DA Greg Willis, in a written statement.
