ARLINGTON (The Fan) -  Colby Lewis took pride in the fact that he was pitching on such a special day. On the 14th anniversary of the attacks on September 11th, Lewis didn't know what kind of a night he was in for. Lewis twirled a gem, throwing a complete game 2 hit shutout; the first of his career, as the Rangers went on to beat the Oakland A's 4-0.

Lewis had a perfect game through 7 innings tonight, but A's third baseman Danny Valencia lined a hanging slider into left field to lead off the 8th inning.

The Rangers offense was able to produce a three-run first inning off of Jesse Chavez. Mitch Moreland doubled home Adrian Beltre and Shin-Soo Choo. Odor followed with a double of his own to score Moreland. Choo added an RBI in the 8th for some insurance, although Colby Lewis wouldn't need it tonight. Lewis won his 15th game of the season, a new career high.
