DALLAS (CBSDFW) -- The Dallas Mavericks received a verbal commitment from free agent center DeAndre Jordan, but the Clippers are reportedly pushing hard to convince Jordan to stay in Los Angeles.

Jordan is eligible to officially sign with Dallas at 11 p.m. CST Wednesday after agreeing to a four-year, $80 million deal last Friday.

Reports say that a contingent of Clippers players and coaches, including coach Doc Rivers and owner Steve Ballmer, are in Houston to meet with Jordan on Wednesday.

Paul Pierce and JJ Reddick are also said to be attending the meeting.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne says Jordan initiated the contact by calling Rivers on Monday, saying he had second thoughts about his decision to sign with Dallas.

Cuban was expected to be at a press conference Wednesday to introduce the team's two draft picks. He was not present and is reportedly already in Houston.

Chandler Parsons, who played a major role in recruiting Jordan, also appears to be en route to Houston to speak with Jordan.

Cuban was fined $25,000 this week for commenting on the Mavs' acquisition of Jordan.
