TERRELL (CBSDFW.COM) - A suspected Terrell convenience store robber is in critical condition at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Police say he was injured after robbing the store and then attempting to flee from police.
According to authorities, the 22-year-old male suspect entered the convenience store and asked to use the restroom. He then left and returned with a gun. The man, who had also covered his face, is said to have demanded money from the store clerk and his wife.
The clerk shot the suspect in the buttocks as he tried to exit the store. Police were called and a description of the suspect was given.
When Terrell police officers arrived they saw the suspect get into a 4-door sedan and drive away.

The suspect lost control of the car just east of Wills Point. The vehicle crossed the divided highway, flipped and ejected the driver. The man was taken to Baylor by air ambulance.
