The seriousness of the injury isn't known at this time and won't be known until he is further evaluated. However, the Rangers may have tipped their hand at who would get the call if Choo has to go on the DL.
Up in Iowa, one of the Rangers prized minor league prospects, Nomar Mazara, was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBI.
What's interesting of note is that Mazara was pulled late in the game for outfielder James Jones.
It could be a mere coincidence that he was pulled. Round Rock was winning at the time 9-3, but the timing of it suggests something different.
Mazara, the Rangers number 2 prospect behind Joey Gallo, had a great spring training. He hit .375 with 1 home run and 8 RBI.
If it is his time to get the call, enjoy it while it lasts, because you can expect him to go back to Round Rock when Choo returns.
