GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - A 5-year-old is still recovering from critical injuries during a hit-and-run crash a little more than two weeks ago.

Grand Prairie Police said on Tuesday, October 25, a Ford Fusion the child was riding in was "sideswiped by a silver or white sedan and forced into a tree."

It happened around 5:00 p.m. in the 4000 block of S. Carrier Pkwy.

The driver of the silver or white sedan immediately took off without trying to help the people in the Fusion.

The driver of the sedan was said to be a Hispanic male and had a sleeve style tattoo on his left arm.

Police said this investigation is still ongoing as detectives are still gathering additional evidence regarding this incident.
