Chase Suspect Has History Of Ramming Police Cars

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) -- The man Grand Prairie Police arrested for ramming six squad cars on Friday has a history with damaging law enforcement vehicles.

20-year old Edgar Hernandez was arrested for stealing a lawn-crew's maintenance truck and trailer from Dubiski Career High School, then leading police on a low speed chase. Hernandez is said to have rammed or swiped six squad cars during the chase, which never exceeded 30 to 40 mph.

Hernandez was charged with six counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and felony evading.

But Dallas court records show that Hernandez is under indictment for a ramming incident involving police from February.

Records say that, when Hernandez was pulled over by Dallas Police for driving the wrong way on Spur 408 on Feb. 2, he repeatedly rammed their squad car by backing his pickup truck into it.
