Police said the suspect is Kenneth Edwards Costello, 39.

Police Chase Garland(Chopper 11)

Police said he was driving a stolen Nissan Sentra out of Irving.

The chase started in Mesquite when the suspect ran a stop light, police said.  After the suspect began driving erratically, officers stopped the pursuit in Garland.

A DPS helicopter was able to spot the car and direct Garland officers to its new location a few minutes later.  Garland Police caught up with the suspect and resumed the chase.

"Eventually the vehicle actually hits a curb, and the vehicle becomes disabled," said Garland Police Lt. Pedro Barineau. "The driver of the vehicle at that point in time gets out of the vehicle, attempts to run on foot, but our officers are able to catch him and take him into custody."

Officers learned Costello has a felony theft warrant already.  He'll now face additional charges of evading arrest and unauthorized use of motor vehicle.
