Parker County road closed after train collides with semi-truck trailer

PARKER COUNTY - Both lanes of FM 5 at Annetta Centerpoint Road are closed after a major railroad collision and train derailment, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Office and Parker County Emergency Services District 1.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the 18-wheeler became stuck while crossing the train tracks and was struck by a Union Pacific train traveling to Fort Worth.   

The video below shows the train colliding with a semi-truck trailer. 

DPS said two train engines and 17 train cars derailed because of the crash. 

The Sheriff's Office says some diesel fuel and oil spilled, but the fire department and hazmat crews are on the scene and there is no danger to the public.   

The train conductor suffered minor injuries and was taken to Texas Health Hospital – Willow Park. 

DPS says FM 5 is expected to be closed until midnight.
