CEDAR HILL (CBSDFW.COM) — Cedar Hill police say they are investigating a murder after a person called 911 saying "she shot her fiancé and was not going to leave."

Officers headed to the 400 block of Robin Road around 5:50 a.m. Sunday after the call. Police say 44-year-old James Drew appeared to have been shot multiple times and was dead at the scene. Officers arrested 48-year-old Carla Rhodes and charged her with murder.

Police say they found a handgun at the scene, where Rhodes and Drew lived together. Officers believe the incident resulted from a domestic dispute between the two, and there is no reason to believe there's a threat to the Cedar Hill community.

Dallas County Sheriff's Office is assisting in processing the crime scene.
