CEDAR HILL (CBSDFW.COM) - Cedar HillFfirefighters and police officers came to the aid of some hot pets Monday.

With temperatures around 100 degrees a tenant of an apartment complex noticed three dogs left on a third-floor apartment balcony with no shade and only a small bowl of water for all three of them.

The concerned resident called the police and fire departments.

Firemen used a long ladder to reach the animals.  Once the dogs were down, officers gave them cool shelter in their police cars and water from their own water bottles.

All three dogs were taken to the city shelter where they're receiving plenty of food, water and cool air.

No word on their owner or owners.
