DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS)The car of a missing North Texas woman is found in Dallas, with a dead body in the trunk.

A tip led detectives with the Greenville Police Department to the Sontera Palms Apartments in east Dallas. While the tip didn't come until Tuesday morning, police have been searching for 48-year-old Lisa Andrews for weeks.

Police in both cities are now working to positively identify the body.

The silver Mustang had been parked at Sontera Palms for days. Neighbor Willow Taylor said, "We rode past that car several times from Christmas Eve up until today." Police towed the vehicle away with the body still inside the trunk.

Taylor lives feet away from the deadly find. "This car is always parked on the side, so we never thought there was a body in it."

The car and license plate match the lookout description issued earlier this month by Greenville police, in connection with the Andrews missing person case. Police say the woman was last seen by family on December 7.

Even though the car appears to be Andrews, police say they still need a final report from the medical examiner's office to determine the identity of the body found inside.

Lieutenant Thomas Castro, with Dallas homicide, said, "Detectives at this point are unable to determine the identity of the individual found at the location, and this is an on-going investigation."

While police wait on results from the medical examiner, they say they're also trying to figure out where the murder was committed.
