PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - A business owner at work during a burglary watched as four masked suspects started sealing his cash, and responded -- with gunfire.

It happened this morning at 4:30 a.m. at a business in the 10300 block of Plano Road. The suspects gained access to the building by prying open the front door. The business owner was in an upstairs room and heard the ruckus. He then walked downstairs and fired his handgun at the suspects who ran from the building to a nearby vehicle and sped off.

Thirty minutes after the burglary, Jacoby Tremone McCoy, 29, was dropped off alone at Doctor's Hospital. Hospital staff saw that Mr. McCoy was suffering from gunshot wounds and notified police.

Evidence collected at the scene, at the hospital, and witness testimony provided detectives with sufficient probable cause to charge McCoy with the burglary on Plano Road.

He is hospitalized in critical condition. The business owner was not injured.
