WACO (AP) — Police say a body has been recovered after a homeless man was swept away by a rain-swollen creek in Central Texas.

Waco police say a body located Saturday morning appears to be a man who was sleeping in a tent near the creek during overnight storms.

Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton says two homeless men were in separate tents when the creek began rising.

Swanton says the survivor heard the victim screaming for help when his tent ended up in the water, but couldn't save him. The survivor contacted police.

The victim's body was located in the creek behind Baylor University's Floyd Casey Stadium.

The name of the man who died wasn't immediately released. Police believe he's from the San Antonio area.
