Heading to the BMW Dallas Marathon? Don't forget your umbrella or rain jacket
NORTH TEXAS – After a beautiful day, an active weather pattern is back in the forecast. Multiple upper-level lows and a series of fronts are expected through the start of the upcoming week. An uptick in rainfall is expected to continue into next week through Wednesday.
Southerly winds overnight into Sunday will bring moist conditions, leading to cloud cover by Sunday morning and a chance of widespread showers and drizzle. If you're headed to the BMW Marathon, be sure to bring an umbrella or rain jacket!
A First Alert has been issued for Monday as a potent cold front passes through the area, bringing the chance of isolated strong storms and widespread showers. The strongest activity is forecast to move through by the afternoon commute. Conditions will clear overnight from west to east.
Tuesday will remain cloudy with the chance of rain showers all day. It is not until Wednesday when a stronger front moves through and brings another chance of thunderstorms.
In fact, Wednesday's front will also usher in cold, Canadian air! This will bring the potential of another widespread freeze Thursday morning and cooler weather entering the next weekend, just in time for Winter Solstice!
