'Black Lives Matter' Rally Set For Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - There is a 'Black Lives Matter' rally planned in Fort Worth on Friday, exactly one week after, investigators said, an Arlington Police Department officer shot and killed an unarmed man. Activists are set to take over the steps of the Tarrant County Courthouse to make their message clear.
Rev. Kyev Tatum is the person behind the rally. He is the president of the Southern Leadership Conference in Tarrant County, and he said that there has been a history of abuse when it comes to race. Tatum wants to start talking about it.
The rally comes a week after the death of Christian Taylor. The 19-year-old college student was shot and killed by Officer Brad Miller during a burglary call at a car dealership in Arlington. There have already been several other rallies and prayer vigils in honor of Taylor.
Miller was fired on Tuesday. Activists hope that a grand jury charges him with murder.
Meanwhile, the Fort Worth rally starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night, seeking healing and answers. Similar 'Black Lives Matter' rallies have been held all over the country in the last several months.
