Best Places For Grilled Cheese In DFW

Grilled cheese sandwiches have been a favorite comfort food for generations. The traditional grilled cheese is just as popular as ever, but is often found on kids' menus. Because adults don't want to miss out on the delicious cheesiness, restaurants have come up with some new twists on this old favorite. By adding multiple cheeses, veggies, meats and sauces, the possibilities are endless (and delicious). The following restaurants have perfected the grilled cheese sandwich in a variety of ways and offer some of the best in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Village Burger Bar is not the dank bar that it sounds like. It is a casual but trendy place with not just burgers, but sandwiches, salads and cocktails. The grilled cheese is called the "four cheese and bacon panini." It comes with tomato, avocado and basil mayo on grilled panini bread. The heaters and fans on the patio make it possible to enjoy a sandwich inside or out most of the year.

The menu has meals to make your tummy and memory smile with foods like sliders and Waldorf salad. The "three cheese grilled cheese sandwich" is served on brioche bread and sliced with provolone, port salut, cheddar cheese and tomato. It also comes with warm roasted tomato soup, as if you needed another reason to order it.

Lee's Grilled Cheese restaurant is located in Keller, but the food truck by the same name can be found in a different place every day. This spot has an entire menu built around the grilled cheese sandwich. It is hard to choose just one. There is a traditional grilled cheese sandwich built with your choice of cheese. There are also unique choices like the "cheddar mac sandwich" that is essentially macaroni and cheese on a sandwich, and the "pizza grilled cheese sticks" which is mozzarella and pepperoni bite-sized sandwiches for dunking in marinara sauce.

Dallas, TX 75208

The café is most popular for brunch, and Café Brazil offers an equally good selection for the breakfast and lunch sides of the menu. Of course, the eight choices of self-serve coffee are a favorite. The grilled cheese recipe is hidden amongst an extensive menu but worth seeking out for its four types of cheese. The ciabatta roll is full of cheddar, asiago, Monterey Jack and feta cheeses. The menu suggests adding avocado and tomato for $1.99 extra.

Reata

Fort Worth, TX 76102
(817) 336-1009
www.reata.net

This downtown Fort Worth, upscale restaurant is a favorite place for special occasions and dinner before a show at Bass Hall. Reata is also a nice place to sit down to lunch as well. On the lunch menu is a grilled cheese sandwich sliced with gruyere and Muenster cheeses and tomatoes on thick bread. There is also an option to add spinach, bacon or ham for $1.50 each. If that is too much cheese for your taste, you can order a half sandwich with a cup of soup.
