There is a lot of great restaurants in the Dallas and Fort Worth area for people to choose from. However, when it comes to finding a great place to eat for families, things get tougher because it is not always easy to find a restaurant with a kid-friendly menu -- at least one that is not generic. However, that does not mean it is impossible and there are some great options thanks to locally owned restaurants in the Metro area. Here is a look at some of the best kids menus in the DFW area.

While there are chain restaurants that offer similar items, Penne Pomodoro offers families healthy Italian food with a local flavor. In the mornings, kids can get the Mini Dagwood (bacon, egg, potato, shaved cheddar) or the Baby Bird (turkey sausage, egg, shaved cheddar). When it comes to their lunch and dinner menu for kids, there are five choices, including the Delaney with pepperoni, mozzarella and pizza sauce, the Chicken Little tenders with ranch or honey mustard, and the Wynne, which has peanut butter and sliced strawberries.

The restaurant opened in 1983 in Dallas and prides itself on being a perfect spot for families to spend quality dinner time together. When heading out to the Celebration Restaurant in Dallas, there is a special treat awaiting the kids. While many restaurants have basic kids menus, Celebration Restaurant has something special, including gluten-free spaghetti, rosemary grilled chicken, and even a good old-fashioned grilled cheese sandwich on nine grain bread. Honestly, there is so much greatness on the kids' menus, that some parents might want to order from that one instead of the main menu. There is also a patio where families can sit and kids can enjoy desserts like homemade banana pudding or a homemade chocolate brownie.
