Best Kids Art Classes In DFW

Inspiring children is easy when it comes to exposing them to art and allowing them to take part in creating their own masterpiece. In a previous story, Best Places For Kids' Summer Art Activities, places were listed where children could go to sprout their artistic wings. In this story, more locations are added for children to grow their artistic abilities, which extended beyond painting.

This venue is perfect for inspiring budding artists from the earliest ages. Toddler art classes start at age two. Classes for children ages three to five include a parent working with a child to look at works of art, a gallery reading on a related art story and an art-making activity in the studio. Taught on weekend afternoons by the museum education staff, classes are limited to 12 pairs. In Japan, Children's Day celebrates the health and happiness of children. At the Crow, children can create their own carp-shape Koinobori flag and participate in story telling, dance and try bubble tea for free.

Activities include doing an art creation, an artist demonstration and an art scavenger hunt. Participation in all of the activities is free and is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Very patient art instructors teach the classes and children will walk away with their own completed work of art. The classes are themed (beach/summer, holidays, monograms, etc.) and are $25. Feel free to bring snacks.

www.sunshineglaze.com Sunshine Glaze Creative Studio offers ceramic painting and fused glass classes for children. A popular event is its monthly Kids Night Out. For $30 per the first child and $5 for each additional sibling, children pick a mosaic base and colored glass to create their own one-of-a-kind art piece. Bases include owls, geckos, ladybugs, owls, hearts, cupcakes and mermaids. The Kids Night Out is three hours long, allowing parents to enjoy dinner or shopping time from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and not worry about their children. The kids will be served pizza as part of their night out.
