UPDATE: According to KWTX in Waco, Baylor has suspended wide receiver Ishmael Zamora for three games after he was caught on video abusing his dog.

WACO (105.3 THE FAN) - Baylor University's football program is dealing with another blow, as one of their players has once again put them at the forefront of the spotlight.

In a video released on Snapchat, wide receiver Ishmael Zamora is seen hitting his dog with a belt at least seven times, before kicking it.

According to USA Today, Baylor coach Jim Grobe said Zamora will be punished but will continue to practice with the team.

A former Baylor student, Shelby Ball, told Waco ABC Affiliate KXXV that she went to authorities about two hours after she saw the video on another Baylor football player's Snapchat.

"Dogs can't speak for themselves... I felt like something needed to be done," Ball told the station.
