Gunman At Large After Murder Near Baylor University

WACO (CBSDFW.COM) - Baylor University reports everything is back to normal on campus after a deadly shooting nearby Thursday afternoon.

Baylor had reported the shooting near campus and warned people on campus to take cover .

Waco Police confirm they are working a murder case at 9th and Garrett.

Police say early indications are that people were gambling in a vacant lot when a young man approached and started shooting.  At least one person who was shot, died.

Police say they are searching for the suspect who ran off and then got into a car and took off.

"There is no indication that additional citizens, Baylor staff or students are in any immediate danger. The shooting is not a random shooting and does not in anyway involve others outside our immediate crime scenes," Waco Police said on their Facebook page.
