WACO (CBSDFW.COM) - A Baylor football player from North Texas was arrested for stalking.

Rami Hammad, 21, was arrested on Monday according to the Waco Herald-Tribune and charged with the felony stalking of his ex-girlfriend.

An affidavit claims Hammad showed up before the woman's class on campus and waited outside until it ended, even though she told him to leave.

The woman was afraid to go back outside and asked the professor for help. The two walked to the professors office. Police say Hammad followed and knocked on the professors door for several minutes. After calls to the athletic department were not answered, the professor called 911.

Hammad went to Irving High School where he was a highly touted offensive lineman. He originally signed with the University of Texas in 2013 before transferring to Baylor. He played in 13 games for the Bears last season.

Hammad remained in jail Tuesday afternoon in lieu of a $5,000 surety bond.
