Rangers Mailbag: Odor Or Profar?

On Tuesday, May 12 Sandler (@sandlerj) asked questions with the hashtag, #AskJared, for 105.3 The Fan. Here are some of the interactions.

You really think that when Profar is healthy, Roogie is still a part of the future?
-- @Cody_Persinger

The level of expectation for Profar is very low, if it exists at all. That's not as much an indictment on him as it is the circumstance.

When the guy returns to the field, if it happens after his current injury is healed, it will have been more than two years since he played. Even though he's young, that's a long time and beat up body to go along with it. With that said, it isn't to say he won't provide anything, but, realistically, that's all a bonus. When he does return, he will likely be used in a utility role until he proves he can earn more. No one is penciling him in as the _________ of the future anymore.

What is your current confidence level in Neffy as closer?
-- @C_Golden07

6.5/10. It's nice seeing his velocity live in the mid-to-high 90s range, as opposed to the low-to-mid 90s. That "power" and swing-and-miss ability that comes from it is important for a reliever, particularly a closer.

-- @Derekboen

Do you think Montreal would be able to support an MLB team again?
-- @AndrewMamaliga

I think so. I'm not sure if they'd get the first crack with relocation. If the team was losing perennially, it becomes a tough sell, but that's the case for most places.
