AZLE (CBSDFW.COM) — Friday morning police in Azle were called out to what they later said was the scene of an apparent murder.

It was just after 4:30 a.m. when an emergency call was placed from a home in the 600 block of Dunaway Lane. When officers arrived they found the body of a dead woman inside the house. Also at the location were several people identified as witnesses.

Just before the lunch hour, investigators were still at the scene interviewing possible witnesses and searching the house.

Officials have not said how the woman died and have not released her name, pending notification of family.

This is only the second homicide in Azle in four years.  The city is located in Tarrant County, about 18 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
