Bodies of missing swimmers recovered from Lake Ray Hubbard

DALLAS – Search teams recovered the bodies of two people who didn't resurface from the water at Lake Ray Hubbard.

Members of the Dallas Police Department dive team found the bodies around 8 a.m. Friday, according to DPD. The Dallas County Medical Examiner will release the identities of the victims after their families have been notified.

Dallas Fire-Rescue says it was dispatched just before 8 p.m. Thursday to a location near Windsurf Bay Park, in the southwest portion of the lake. The search was suspended late Thursday night and resumed early Friday.

DFR spokesman Jason Evans said 911 callers reported that multiple people jumped off a boat into the lake, but two of them did not come out. Evans said both were men in their 30s.

Units from Dallas Fire-Rescue, DPD, and the Texas Game Warden's office were part of the search.
