Authorities Continue To Monitor Lake Highlands Fire
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- More than 12 hours after a fire broke out at an apartment in Lake Highlands, firefighters are still keeping a close watch on the building.
Authorities worry that high winds could rekindle the flames, which took four hours to extinguish on Wednesday night as the fire grew to five alarms.
Strong winds Wednesday night blew embers several blocks away, causing two separate grass fires.
A dog was rescued from the two-story building, though no residents were injured.
One firefighter was treated for burns to his arms, but is expected to recover.
There is no word yet on what sparked the fire.
