DUNCANVILLE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - An arrest has been made in Duncanville after a 15-year-old boy suffering from cancer was gunned down in his driveway.

On Saturday November 8th, Ryan Lara was moving his family's car from the street to the driveway when police say he was shot and killed in an attempted robbery. Just weeks before Lara had started treatment for lymphoma cancer.

Police say 19-year-old Tyler Geraud Wiley was arrested Tuesday in connection with the shooting and have charged him with Capital Murder.

Wiley is currently being held at the Dallas Count Jail on a $1 million bond.

"Sometimes families have to wait a very long time to seek answers and justice. We've been blessed in that way, in that it happened fast," said Richard Lara, Ryan's oldest brother. Lara was the youngest of three brothers.  Several relatives were gathered at the family's home on Wren Avenue, when Ryan was shot near the front porch.

A cross now marks the spot where Ryan died.  400 people attended his funeral service on Friday.  Richard says police called to tell them of the arrest on Saturday.

"The family is very overwhelmed about it. We're keeping strong," said Richard.

A tip led police to question Wiley.  Police say Wiley confessed -- not only to Lara's murder, but to two aggravated robberies in Dallas within a few days of the shooting.

Police are still looking for information on possibly two to three additional suspects and the vehicle that was involved in the homicide – identified as a silver, 4-door 2000 model Acura TL (with a sunroof).
