ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) — Police are investigating a crash that sent multiple people to the hospital Saturday evening.

Arlington police said an officer drove up on a "major crash" at Green Oaks Boulevard and Pleasant Ridge Road around 8:15 p.m. It appears that one car hit two cars going northbound, possibly by rear-ending them, and hit another car going the opposite direction, police said.

The department said "a couple of people" were taken to hospitals. The extent of their injuries and the cause of the crash are unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
