ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A high-speed police chase through parts of Arlington and into Fort Worth came to an end on Wednesday night with the driver being arrested, but it took about an hour to get him into custody.

The pursuit began before 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night after the man refused to stop for police officers, who suspected that the silver minivan had been stolen. The driver sped away and authorities gave chase.

That chase lasted more than an hour, racing through several Arlington neighborhoods, city streets and onto Interstate-20 and Highway 360, reaching speeds as high as 100 mph. CBS 11 News was parked along Cooper Street at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday night when the suspect rushed past, followed by multiple police cars.

With help from a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter, authorities caught up with the suspect as he came to a stop on Loop 820 in east Fort Worth. The man was arrested and is now behind bars.

There were no reports of injuries during this incident. Police have not released additional details about how the silver minivan was stolen in the first place.
