Arlington Police Chase & Arrest Kidnapping Suspect

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police officers from Arlington took a man into custody Wednesday after he allegedly kidnapped a woman and child at Northwest Highway and Shiloh in Dallas earlier in the morning. Authorities spotted him shortly after 11:00 a.m. and followed the suspect into Grand Prairie.

Witnesses told police, the victim and her child were forced into a vehicle by the suspect, the victim's ex-boyfriend, at gunpoint. The suspect took off with the woman and her child before police got there.

Police released dash cam video from one of their units during the chase:

Police in Dallas issued an alert and officers in Arlington located the suspect's vehicle.

During a chase, the man led officers into Grand Prairie, where the suspect jumped out of his car and fled on foot into a Subway sandwich shop near the intersection of Interstate-30 and Belt Line Road.

Police had to use a Taser on the man in order to bring him into custody.  Heis being investigated for Aggravated Kidnapping and Unlawful Restraint.

The kidnapped woman and child were not injured.
