ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Two people were struck by a car early Saturday morning in Arlington and the driver took off.

On Sunday the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office released one of the victim's names:  40-year-old Tammy McLain of Parker County.

Around 2:12 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, APD responded to reports of a major crash investigation involving two pedestrians in the 2400 block of W. Division Street. This area is near N. Bowen Road. Investigators believe that a man and woman attempted to cross the street from the north to the south and were struck in the eastbound lanes of W. Division Street.

The pedestrians did not use a cross walk.

The pair was pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was closed for approximately 6 hours while investigators gathered evidence and processed the scene.

"We don't have a whole lot at all right now," explained Arlington Lt. Chris Cook. "So we really need the public's help to be our eyes and ears out there."

Cook said if anyone notices a suspicious vehicle in their neighborhood with new front end damage to give police a call.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Investigator Nick Brening at 817-459-5635 or 817-459-5700.
